The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. The most significant advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It uses AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it with a voice.
Its design is superior to the rest with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robotic rather than a loud, loud one. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand that other robots couldn't do. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and can't clean the stairs, it's an option for those who require both mopping and vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a long time to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.

When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also come with various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They're expensive at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our most loved robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and although it lacks some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like table legs and walls which makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can begin and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful for setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for most people however it can help you effectively keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
- Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is among the top in the market however it's quite expensive.
The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot Vacuum Mops charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tried that does very well at cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs, which means it can get stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It also can't climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do it all.
However, if you're looking to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other great choices on the market, including a lot of eufy models that cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot vacuums that have the right balance of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be placed close to an outlet that has enough space to move.
The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses an integrated map to make an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It can remember what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its base and resumes cleaning from where it left off.
The sleek G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring expenses, charges faster and offers similar battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30, however is more affordable and much easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials like cereal.
